My training as a scientist revealed to me the need for storytellers that can bridge the gap between researchers and the people most affected by their work. My experience as both a scientist and a communicator have shown me that my greatest impact lies not in conducting research, but in translating it into narratives that help people to understand the science that shapes their lives.
